Thursday’s at Park Tavern

Shanghai Chess Club deal with Park Tavern 6pm-10pm drinks offer: 20rmb Carlsberg, 30rmb 1664, 30 rmb house spirits with mixer. You are welcome to enter our weekly prize giving Blitz Tournament with a low 30 RMB entry or just play a friendly game on the side. We are pretty approachable here – so just scan the WeChat below and we’ll give you the run down.

The weekly blitz has a first, second, third and challengers prize with points earned also to go towards the Grand Prix every season. Our Blitz is normally 6 minutes blitz (4 sec increment), Swiss style tournament. Starts at 8pm, with registration beginning at 7:30pm. Please don’t be late! Maya

Monday’s at Maya

Maya is located in Shanghai Grand Plaza Club house, in a residential compound on Julu Road in the former French concession. Since 2009 Maya has been regarded as one of Shanghai’s best Mexican restaurants, and the owner is a keen chess player and supporter of the club. He gives over the back room to the chess club every Monday with a range of Chess Club specials available to the players. There is a Chess League here, 300 RMB for 6 round Swiss tournament over 10 weeks.
